The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, has reacted to the triple murder in Memaliaj. 

In a post on social networks, Balla underlines that the top leaders of the State Police are in Memaliaj and the event is expected to be clarified as soon as possible. 

"It is the main duty of the State Police to prevent criminal events, assessing the risk and engaging in the disclosure of old criminal events. These old criminal events are a potential risk for new events. While the highest leaders of the State Police are in Memaliaj, where we are waiting for the clarification as soon as possible, the Local Police Directorate of Lezhë has just prevented a serious criminal event. Thanks to the timely response, the firearms and remote control mines, which were to be used, were seized and arrested in the act the suspected author", says Balla. 

The incident with three victims and one injured that happened in the late hours of Saturday in a bar in Memaliaj has shocked public opinion. 

It is suspected that the target of the assassination was Shyqyri Kalemi, the father of Andrea Kalemi. While the other two victims are the 36-year-old waiter, Gledio Muka, and the 47-year-old customer, Marsel Çela. The latter had nothing to do with the resemblance. 

It is reported that the 36-year-old man was near the target's table when the latter was shot with a Kalashnikov by the perpetrators.

While the customer Çela was in the bar, but was caught by bullets.

Meanwhile, 74-year-old Shyqyri Kalemi was at the table with his brother, who was injured. The latter is in serious condition after receiving two bullets, one in the thigh and one in the chest, and is receiving treatment at the Gjirokastra hospital.
