After being sworn in as an MEP in the European Parliament, Fredi Beleri has returned to Albania.
He will continue serving his sentence for vote buying.
Fredi Beleri left Fier prison on Monday morning, after taking 5 days leave to be sworn in as an MEP from the "New Democracy" party of the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
His permit was approved by the General Directorate of Prisons. Outside the prison premises, he was met by his wife and the car of the Greek embassy.
After he got out of prison, he went to Athens, where he was also received by the Greek Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Beleri took the oath, while warning that he will send his court case to Strasbourg./ CNA
