"Food samples are being analyzed"/ Gjylameti: We are waiting for the

The Director of the National Food Authority, Blerina Gjylameti, stated on the "Opinion" show that samples were taken from leftover food and from the environment where food was prepared at the Police Academy, after the poisoning of the students.

According to her, Public Health representatives intervened in a timely manner and the investigation process is continuing normally. Full test results are expected within 10 days.

Gjylameti also reacted to claims circulating on social media about the presence of "vinegar with worms", denying them. She said that no such sample was found and no such product was taken, adding that there was no such product at the Academy and that caution is needed in spreading information until the official results are released.

According to her, some of the analyses have already been released, while others are expected at the beginning of the week, to determine the exact cause of the incident. She also confirmed that the products in the environment where the food was prepared have been blocked and that the hygiene and sanitary conditions are being verified.

Gjylameti emphasized that the food was supplied by the company "Sorial" and that after the analysis is completed, appropriate measures will be taken if violations are found.

Finally, she underlined that the priority remains the health of the affected students and ensuring food safety.

"What you said a moment ago was that there was chaos due to statements made without security in the institution.

"Public Health representatives were present, samples were taken from the leftover food and then we investigated where it was cooked. Everyone reacted in time," said Gjylameti.

Regarding the vinegar with worms published on social media, Gjylameti said:

"We have denied it, we have not found and we have not taken a sample of vinegar with worms. There was no such vinegar at the academy. We need to be cautious in spreading the news. We need to wait for the results of the analyses. Some answers have come, we expect to have some more at the beginning of the week to understand what happened. The products in the environment where the food was produced have been blocked. After the analyses, we need to take other measures," said Gjylameti./ CNA
