Poisoning of Security Academy students/ Klodiana Lala: Food safety, less

Journalist Klodiana Lala, on the show Të Paekspozuarit with Ylli Rakipi, spoke about the serious incident that occurred yesterday where students from the Security Academy were admitted to the infectious disease hospital with symptoms of poisoning.

The journalist said that food security issues in the country are one of the biggest but least addressed concerns.

"After consuming lunch, 56 of the students presented themselves to the Infectious Diseases Department because they had health problems and symptoms. There were suspicions that they might have been poisoned by the lunch."

According to procedures, the police have notified the relevant institutions to take samples and conduct analyses, in order to determine the food that may have caused the poisoning.

It was found that the broccoli was spoiled and was difficult to consume. During the questioning of the two doctors, it was alleged that there was a suspicion of food poisoning.

The entire lunch was taken for analysis. The incident took place at the Police Academy. Two people were arrested: cook Kujtim Ballgjini and technician Kristiana Paloka. A search of the administrator's home was also conducted.
