The Supreme Court must react/ Ndreca and Veliaj in an unprecedented attack on

An unprecedented act of blackmail against the justice system was recorded this Thursday, just 24 hours before the hearing at the Administrative Court in the case of prosecutor Ols Dado. Plarent Ndreca, who is himself a defendant, in the role of Erion Veliaj's lawyer, has come out openly exerting pressure on the Administrative Court and the judiciary through a press conference.

This public appearance, scheduled on the eve of the hearing, was used to threaten the judiciary with the activation of institutional control mechanisms, an action that is considered to be the use of institutions as a "rubber stick" over the heads of judges. In these conditions, when the judge of the hearing, Hazbi Balliu, is under full pressure from the Ndreca-Veliaj duo, CNA calls on the High Judicial Council to react and take a firm stance to protect the independence of the judiciary.

The situation is further aggravated after the defense asked the municipality staff to participate in Friday's trial, attempting to create an artificial pressure in the courtroom, similar to the siege of the GJKKO at the time of Erion Veliaj's arrest. This pressure by the Veliaj-Ndreca duo aims to remove prosecutor Ols Dado in order to have the acts carried out for 13 serious criminal charges declared invalid.

While this open public blackmail is considered unprecedented, there is a noticeable silence from the Supreme Administrative Court, allowing a serious criminal case to turn into a media and political show. The Supreme Administrative Court must break this silence and react to a defendant who dares to show the court the mechanisms of control only 24 hours before the hearing in the Administrative Court./CNA
