Food poisoning of students at the Academy of Safety/ AKU seizes 155 kg of

The National Food Authority has made an official announcement regarding the poisoning of 56 students of the Security Academy.

The AKU announces that it has carried out verifications at the entity that provides catering services at the Security Academy, and 155 kg of products and 1,350 eggs were seized.

The NFA has imposed a disciplinary fine of 100 thousand lek on the catering entity for the lack of a complete traceability system.

The National Food Authority, in the function of public information and transparency, announces that, through an inter-institutional communication with the Sauk Safety Academy, it has received information about suspected poisoning of several trainees at this academy.

The AKU immediately carried out the relevant verifications at the entity SORI-AL, an entity that carries out catering activities at this institution, food that comes ready-made and produced in the premises of the "Skërnderbej" garrison near the Tirana Armed Forces Academy.

According to the inspection of the kitchen premises located within the premises of the Security Academy, it was found that the entity carries out its activity in appropriate hygienic and sanitary conditions.

From the verification at the time of the control, it results that no cooking process is carried out in this environment, the products were ready-made catering products from the entity SORI-AL, produced in the kitchen facilities of "Garnizoni Skënderbej", Tirana.

More specifically, at the time of the inspection, pilaf, pasta, beans, sausage and ready-to-serve open yogurt were found, of which 85.9 kg of product were blocked and samples were taken for microbiological analysis, which were sent to the ISUV laboratory.

Due to the lack of a functional and complete tracking system, an administrative measure of a fine of 100 thousand lek was imposed on the subject.

Following the traceability investigation, a check was also carried out on the premises of the SORI-Al entity with the address "Skënderbej Garrison" near the Armed Forces Academy, where it was found that the OBU was not found in the work process since production is carried out at certain times.

No ready-to-consume product was found in the subject, as the products produced are immediately distributed to contracting points.

For the purpose of the inspection at the facility, samples were taken for the identified products, specifically white cow's cheese, cow's yogurt, eggs, and sausage for analysis of microbiological loads, which were sent to the ISUV laboratory.

The stock quantity of 67.3 kg of products, 1350 eggs, was blocked, and an administrative measure was imposed on the subject with a fine of 100 thousand lek for the lack of a complete traceability system.

The National Food Authority will continue to follow the entire process step by step and take the following measures to ensure food safety.
