Political scientist Ilir Kalemaj has stated that the mayor arrested on 13 charges for 5 serious criminal offenses, Erion Veliaj, is known for the favors he did in the media, either directly or by employing over 80 people employed in the Municipality of Tirana in various roles for media coverage.

Kalemaj stated that Veliaj continues to do marketing using the media even from prison.
