Lawyer Adriana Kalaja has reacted after the decision of the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime, which has returned the file related to the case of Irena Gjoka to SPAK for further investigation.

Kalaja has described the decision as an important development and a turning point for the justice system in the country.

She stated that for several years she has raised concerns about the functioning of the judicial system and that, according to her, the latest decision represents a step towards strengthening trust in justice.

Kalaja also praised the judge who made the decision, considering her decision-making as courageous and influential in the further progress of the process.

According to her, the matter should continue with full and transparent investigations by SPAK, in order to clarify all circumstances and possible responsibilities.

"For the sake of truth, I feel very happy today and above all, I see it as a decisive moment in the entire situation where Albanian justice is actually located, where we who have raised our voices continuously since 2016, and have said that it will take many, many years for us to return to that bad justice."

And this action today, being totally grateful to a judge, that you should think, you should think dear and all the honorable, yes, Mrs. Marinela Osmani. You should think about how difficult it is to make a decision within a criminal gang and this decision in my view is that crack in the ray of light that transmits only that thin thread and I think it is the pioneer of restoring justice in the judicial system.

I say this with conviction and I say this with maximum certainty and time will prove me right, as I have said and have called many times for SPAK prosecutors, that I have said, become pioneers of establishing justice and not devoted soldiers of the current government. So this honorable decision today, in addition to establishing justice in the country, in addition to being a very good omen for the entire justice system, in addition to showing that justice and truth triumph despite the fact that it is a colleague who made this decision, and it is not in vain that we also requested the incompetence and exclusion of Mrs. Marinela Osmani, not for the name of Marinela Osmani, but for the special court itself, for those reasons, for those very reasons that I will present in a second moment, but on the other hand, I think that it is also a great stimulus that is given to the entire justice system, all prosecutors and all judges, who must prioritize justice. So, it doesn't matter who raises the issue, it doesn't matter who files the criminal report. There are two moments here and I have called it from your esteemed studio as well.

This matter should have gone to trial, or else SPAK should have accused us of forgery and false reporting. Absolutely. We cannot be in the middle. Justice has no middle ground. Justice is either on this side, on the side of justice, or you are on the side of injustice. Ms. Osmani has all my gratitude and appreciation today, because with all the interventions that have been made and I said, when I take the floor again, I will present all the data to you.
