Hashim Thaçi for Opinion: I am not alienated in the world that others

Former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, in an interview for the show Opinion from prison in The Hague, recounted what his days are like inside the cell.

Thaçi has shown that 24 hours a day and 365 days a year are the same inside prison where the meaning of life is lost.

He emphasizes that he has reflected on Kosovo and the Albanians, where he often forgets how oppressed they have been and how they have risen as a nation today.

Former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Thaçi, underlines that in isolation he is attacked by thousands of fears that swirl around him and he maintains his compass by managing time and the situation as calmly as possible.

Among other things, he adds that he is not alienated in the world that others tried to throw away.

"The 24 hours of the day are the same, the calendar of life loses its meaning. I have reflected on Kosovo and the Albanians. We often forget how oppressed we have been, today we are on the rise as a nation.

The spirit and energy of the homeland still sustains me. In isolation, I am attacked by thousands of shivers that swirl around me. I maintain my compass by managing the time and the situation as calmly as possible.

"I am not alienated in the world that others tried to throw me into," Thaçi told Opinion.

Thaçi has also expressed his suffering over the loss of his father, saying that every handful of dirt on his body weighed a ton on his head in the cell.
