Doctor Mereme Sela is one of the candidates who has submitted an application to the DP headquarters to become part of the race to elect the leader of the Democratic Party.

In a statement to the media, she stated that she has been a member of the Democratic Party since 2014, while indicating that she has never held a leadership role. Among other things, she said that she has respect for the Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, but added that if the Democrats want "a leader with an impeccable figure, let them vote for him."

"I have never been given a leadership role. I am running for the presidency of the Democratic Party and if the people are interested in health, education, children, I am one of the people with the right background. Even in the primaries in the Durrës district, I have asked all candidates to present their program. I have read the criteria. I have great respect for the Doctor because I have him as a colleague, a professor. My battle is: if the people and the membership are interested in a person with a clean, unblemished figure, without any kind of impact on all Albanians, it is me. If they want, let them vote for me. The two main pillars are health and education ," said Sela.

Her application to participate in the elections for the presidency of the Democratic Party was also confirmed by the Secretary General, Flamur Noka. Meanwhile, the deadline for submitting applications was 12:00 today. /CNA
