The Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, spoke outside the blue headquarters about the race for party leadership and the submission of candidate applications.

He stated that the doors of the DP are open to any democrat who meets the criteria for participation in the race. Ironically, he said that the applicant must serve the interests of the democrats and not Edi Rama. 

He also added that Mereme Sela is one of the names that has submitted the application and will be evaluated if it meets the criteria to be part of the competition.

"Every member of the DP who wishes to run for any institution of this party and meets the criteria has the door open and will be welcome to run. On March 13, I communicated that the competition is open and we have been transparent about this. Anyone who aspires to apply has had a month's deadline. Every member of the DP who meets the criteria is welcome. For the Democratic Party, you have to be someone who serves the Democrats and not Rama. Mereme Sela is a Democrat, she is a member and has brought the documents. Then it will be assessed whether she meets the criteria. The documents that Edi Rama or Suel Çela bring, no, will not be accepted. Do you know any member who has applied and their application was not accepted? It does not happen," said Noka.

12:00 was the deadline for submitting applications to participate in the competition. Meanwhile, it is reported that the names that have expressed their willingness to run are Sali Berisha, Mereme Sela, Alesia Balliu, Evi Kokalari and Ervin Salianji.
