Drugs, alcohol and phones/ Flash checks in Fier prison

Surprise checks have been conducted at the Fier Penal Execution Institution, as part of measures to strengthen security and prevent the introduction of prohibited items into the prison.

According to official information, the checks were carried out following operational data provided by the Risk Directorate at the DPB, in cooperation with the Supervisory Agency for the Execution of Criminal Decisions System.

During the search conducted by the Operational Forces of the DPB on the premises of the institution, outside near Building "A", 10 mobile phones, 10 phone chargers, canisters suspected of containing alcohol, as well as suspected narcotics in two different locations were found and seized.

During the search conducted by the structures of the Fier Penitentiary Institution itself, the convict with the initials AM, during the verification on the scanner, was found to have five small bags suspected of containing narcotics, hidden in the lower part of a T-shirt.

"Based on information received operationally by the Risk Directorate at the DPB, in cooperation with the Supervision Agency in the Criminal Execution System, controls to strengthen security measures and prevent the introduction or possession of prohibited items have continued at the Fier Criminal Execution Institution.

As part of these measures, the Operational Forces of the DPB have carried out a search of the institution's premises, where in the exterior area near Building "A" they found and seized: 10 mobile phones, 10 phone chargers, cans suspected of containing alcohol, as well as suspected narcotics found in two different locations.

The relevant incident reports and blocking minutes have been drafted for the case, while the Supervisory Agency for the Execution of Criminal Decisions System has been notified for further procedures.

Meanwhile, during a check carried out by the structures of the Fier Penitentiary Institution itself, the convict AM, during the scanner verification, was found to have five small bags suspected of containing narcotics, hidden in the lower part of a T-shirt. After the finding, the institution's managers and the Agency's specialists were notified, while the convict was escorted to isolation", the announcement states./ CNA
