The property "cuts off the head" of the prosecutor / The former director of the ICS is fired

The Independent Qualification Commission, KPC announced on Thursday, June 30, the decision to dismiss the prosecutor of Shkodra, Astrit Halilaj. The KPC body that conducted the transitional re-evaluation process for prosecutor Halilaj was chaired by Genta Tafa Bungo, with rapporteur Lulzim Hamitaj and member Roland Ilian.

During the hearing on June 28, Halilaj gave explanations on how to create and benefit from some real estate, financial resources and negative balances found during the administrative investigation.

Problemet kryesore që u evidentuan në seancë kishin të bënin me investimet e kryera gjatë periudhës 1995-2014 në një banesë me dy kate plus papafingo dhe burimet e krijimit të kësaj pasurie, me burimet për blerjen e një apartamenti plus parkim në Vlorë, për një makinë dhe dy njësi shërbimi të porositura nga vëllai në vitin 2000, të drejtat reale të të cilave i janë kaluar subjektit në 2014-ën, por pa dhënë gjë në këmbim.

Prokurori Astrit Halilaj

Prokurori Halilaj e kundërshtoi analizën financiare dhe kërkoi që të ndiqet praktika e KPK-së për justifikimin e remitancave nga emigracioni.

Ndërkohë, Halilaj u vlerësua pozitivisht për pastërtinë e figurës, si dhe nuk u evidentuan probleme në kriterin profesional, shkrun Birn.

Astrit Halilaj started his career as a judicial police officer in 1993 and for two decades has held senior positions in the State Police. From 2016, he worked as a prosecutor at the Shkodra Judicial District Prosecutor's Office.
