USA triumphs and qualifies, Bosnia ends dream

The United States national team has secured a place in the last 16 of the World Cup with a 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina. It marks only the second knockout stage victory for the Americans in their last nine historic attempts.

Mauricio Pochettino's team took the lead in the final seconds of the first half through Folarin Balogun, who scored his third goal of the tournament.

In the second half, the situation became more complicated for the home team as the same player was sent off in the 64th minute after a VAR review for a dangerous tackle.

However, even with 10 players, the USA managed to find the second goal in the 82nd minute through a free kick executed by Malik Tillman.

Bosnia and Herzegovina failed to exploit numerical superiority in its historic first match at this stage, being eliminated from the competition.

Following this success, the USA will travel to Seattle to face Belgium in the round of 16.
