Oliseh impresses at the World Cup, Bayern star ranks behind legend Pele

France striker Michael Oliseh has reached the milestone of 5 assists in four matches played at the 2026 World Cup, ranking second in the tournament's history.

During France's 3-0 win over Sweden in the round of 16, the 24-year-old provided two assists for Bradley Barcola and Kylian Mbappe's goals. With this balance, Olise leads the list of assists this season, leaving behind Brazilian Bruno Guimaraes who has four assists.

Also behind him are Roberto Alvarado, Martin Odegard and Florian Wirtz, who each have three assists.

Historically, since 1966 when detailed data collection began, only Pele has recorded a higher figure, with 6 assists in the 1970 World Cup. The French player's performance is proving decisive for France's progress, which has already qualified for the 1/8 finals.

The next knockout matches will determine whether Oliseh will be able to equal or surpass the record set by the Brazilian legend.
