Serbia fears defeat at the table, final decision for the match with Albania

Albania will return to the field in four weeks, for a crucial match against Serbia, which is expected to determine second place in the group and their chances of qualifying for the World Cup.

Serbia won against Andorra 3-0 in Leskovac, but then suffered a 0-5 defeat to England in Belgrade, where there was no shortage of incidents in the stadium.

The brawls, offensive chants and use of lasers are expected to bring a severe punishment from FIFA, which could include the Serbia-Albania match being played without fans.

Following these events, the Serbian Football Federation has requested that the match with Albania be played not in Belgrade, but in the small stadium in Leskovac with only 8,000 seats. This option is seen as safer and easier to organize, avoiding hooligans and possible incidents.

Otherwise, playing in Belgrade would put Serbia at risk of losing the table. Federation Secretary Branko Radujko stated that this match is the main priority and that he believes his team can get a positive result. He added that Leskovci has always been a calm environment with positive support for the Serbian national team.
