Accounts, Albania with "pen and paper" for the World Cup

The victory over Latvia gave Albania three important points in the race to qualify for the 2026 World Cup. This success was the second in the group and brought the red and black team up to 8 points, positioning itself in second place.

Albania currently holds the play-off spot in Group K, 7 points behind leaders England. Behind the Rossoneri is Serbia with 7 points and one game in hand, while Latvia has 4 points and Andorra remains at the bottom with no points.

Albania's progress depends on three remaining matches, the most crucial of which is against Serbia in October. The Reds also face Andorra and England, while Serbia will play all of their group rivals.

These matches will determine whether Albania will qualify for a World Cup for the first time.
