Cannabis plot in Divjaka/ 3 people are being prosecuted

Fier police have cracked down on a case of narcotic plant cultivation in Divjaka.

As a result, 3 employees of the Protected Areas Administration were released on bail.

44 kilograms of cannabis plants were also seized and 1,426 cannabis plants were found to have been cultivated.

Intensive controls continue in the territory and in closed environments, to prevent and crack down on the cultivation of narcotic plants.

An environment adapted for the drying and processing of narcotic plants is discovered in Divjaka. 44 kilograms of narcotic cannabis plants, in the form of bottles/in the process of drying, are seized.

Also, during the operation, 1,426 cannabis plants were found to have been cultivated. Some of them were destroyed on site, while the rest were seized as material evidence.  

As a result of intensive controls in the territory of the Fier district, from the ground and from the air, with drones, the services of the Fier Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the services of the Divjaka Police Commissariat, based on information obtained through operational channels, have finalized the operation codenamed "Coordination".  

During the operation, in the place called “Divjaka Reservoir”, on state land, an environment adapted for drying and processing narcotic plants was found. In this environment, 37 kilograms of suspected cannabis narcotic substance in the process of drying and 7 kilograms of suspected cannabis narcotic substance in the form of bottles were found. The narcotic substance was seized as material evidence, with the aim of conducting an expertise.

Following the procedural actions, the specialists of the Narcotics Investigation Sector at the Fier Police Department referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office where proceedings were initiated in absentia for the criminal offense of "Abuse of office", against 3 employees of the Regional Administration of Protected Areas in the Fier district, citizens:

-ET, 33 years old, with the duty of sector manager, FH, 37 years old, with the duty of management specialist and GA, 53 years old, with the duty of guard.

Work continues, under the direction of the Fier Prosecutor's Office, to identify and capture the perpetrator(s) of the cultivation of narcotic plants.

The Fier Local Police Directorate continues intensive controls from the air, by drone, and from the ground, with the aim of preventing and cracking down on the criminal activity of cultivating narcotic plants.
