Return to Serie A? The Turin club prepares the attack for Icardi

Torino are considering the possibility of bringing Mauro Icardi back to Serie A after his contract with Galatasaray expires in June 2026.

According to Turkish media, the Italian club is in contact with representatives of the Argentine striker, who has been part of the Turkish team since the 2022/23 season.

Icardi has scored 66 goals in 96 appearances for Galatasaray but has only started three games this season. The Turkish club's president, Dursun Ozbek, has said that a contract renewal "is not currently on the table".

The 32-year-old is being eyed by Torino as he could bolster an attacking unit that has only scored six goals in five weeks. The main issue remains his salary, which in Turkey is worth €6m net per year. However, Icardi could accept a pay cut to return to Serie A and be closer to his family.
