A defender is wanted, Milan dreams of Van Dijk

Milan continues to be active in the summer transfer market after the transfer of Gonçalo Ramos, who has become the most expensive purchase in the history of the red and black club.

Coach Ruben Amorim is now looking for reinforcements in the defensive department and several Portuguese names are at the top of his list. Benfica's Antonio Silva remains a target, but the Portuguese club are trying to keep him with a new contract and a central role in Marco Silva's project. For this reason, Sporting's Gonçalo Inacio is currently considered the most likely alternative.

The 24-year-old defender has a release clause of €60m, while an offer of €45m to €50m could be enough to kick-start negotiations. Milan's list also includes Manchester United's Lisandro Martinez and Tiago Gabriel, who played for Lecce last season.

Meanwhile, Zlatan Ibrahimovic continues to dream of bringing Virgil Van Dijk closer, even though Liverpool do not seem ready to give up on the Dutch defender.
