Lawyer Eda Grimçi, invited to the "Now" show with Erla Mëhilli, spoke about her name as part of the list of candidates proposed for members of the DP Presidency.

Grimçi said he did not know he would be part of the list of candidates and the candidacy came as a surprise to him.

Grimci said that a candidate should not secure votes through lobbying, but through contribution and political weight.

 

" To be honest, I didn't know I would be a candidate. I had applied to run at least then. I am a candidate myself and I had applied for the presidency, I also applied for the legal secretariat in the Democratic Party. I didn't know I would be on the list.

While I am here and have not waited for the counting, it means that I am convinced that no one within the party is stealing my votes and I definitely have faith in the process, because for years I have been involved in electoral processes within the party and outside the party. Let me explain a little about this issue of lobbying within the Democratic Party. It is true that there is lobbying, lobbying for open lists, for primaries, lobbying for national, but to claim that you will be a member of the leadership and to become a member of the leadership and to receive the votes of the National Council you have to lobby within your party, then you do not deserve to be a member of the leadership.

Because for you to be a member of the presidency, you must have political weight, recognition, you must have a contribution that the highest body, which is the National Council, knows and recognizes, and you don't need to lobby. I think a vote for the presidency is a political vote. It is neither a local nor a friendly vote ," said Eda Grimci.
