Rama: Don't let the crows and ravens get tired of rejecting

Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted again today regarding the 'BESA' strategic document he presented on Friday, linking it to the protesters' positions on this step.

Through a post on the social network 'Facebook', Rama states that the interpretation of his words about 'BESA' has nothing to do with the protesters, who reiterate that they do not want dialogue, while adding that he has no intention of breaking the contract he has with the Albanians.

Full reaction:

I receive various types of chatter via WhatsApp, from friends and strangers, after my speech about Flamingo Boulevard. One of them, which I have heard in the evenings with the original audio from under the office window, deserves a comment:

They repeat that they don't want "dialogue", no "negotiations", they "don't give a damn" they only want my resignation! Big misunderstanding.

None of them voted for me. I have no contract with any of them. For any of them, nor for all of them together, it has never occurred to me to break the contract with 800 thousand Albanians, among whom there are many flamingos.

My speech was about the lessons I learned from Flamingo Boulevard and was addressed to them, the flamingos, not the black feathers that gather every night on the boulevard to curse in chorus or every parliamentary day around the Assembly to lay their eggs of hatred.

In my speech, the crows and ravens were part of it because they were the dark and inseparable side of that protest, but not because they have any part in the obligations drawn from the lessons of Flamingo Boulevard.

So the crows and ravens should never tire of rejecting the FAITH because our FAITH has nothing to do with them. They should not stop coming to my window demanding my resignation until 2029! Because freedom is the same for them, even though we are separated by light and darkness. And democracy with its rights, including protest, works the same for everyone in this country that they call a "dictatorship".

While my contract with the Albanians does not depend on them at any point, it is the property of all those with whom I signed it, as well as the cornerstone of democratic life . /CNA
