Territorial reform/ Berisha, calls on citizens to protest

DP leader Sali Berisha, in a conversation with citizens, spoke about the Territorial Reform.

Berisha said that Prime Minister Edi Rama is doing everything for confrontation.

The Chief Democrat called on citizens not to leave territorial reform in the hands of Edi Rama but to rise up and protest.

"So, the opposition, in an extraordinary effort, held parliament for five hours with two main issues, territorial reform and the second issue, the demands of the protesters outside parliament, who had only one demand: they did not represent an absolute truth."

This parliament and these pseudo-majority deputies do not represent the citizens. They represent billions and billions of taxpayers' euros used according to international documents to influence, to control the will of the voters. They represent slandered terrorist groups of patronage Nazis who behave like political vote police.

They represent the most dangerous drug cartels in Europe. They represent the greatest plunder of public property and theft of the budget. They represent the vote of crime and in no case, under no circumstances, the Albanian citizens. That is why the DP demanded with the greatest insistence the dissolution and termination of the Albanian parliament on Thursday.

Just as we denounced before the Albanians and the entire world the irresponsible act of Edi Rama of unilaterally withdrawing from territorial reform. Dear friends, at the head of the queue I declared that with Edi Rama, there is no reform.

But on the other hand, not one or two, but dozens and hundreds of citizens from all over the country, have requested that the DP participate in the territorial reform commission to protect their interests in this commission. And we did this. Mr. Luciano Boçi, at the head of this commission, and our deputies did an extremely serious job.

They prepared with the greatest seriousness, together with experts in the field, the best project of the future territorial reform, where the municipalities from 60 were not reduced, but doubled. In which, in addition to the municipalities, dozens and dozens of communes were added according to the territories where they are possible to establish and the profound demographic changes allow their establishment.

After extensive bipartisan consultations, in which citizens from across the political spectrum unanimously exposed Edi Rama's past reform, Edi Rama decided to close the committee's work, withdraw, and unilaterally and illegally voted on Maznik's report, which had not been presented to the committee.

"So, he does everything for a confrontation and I invite citizens not to leave this reform, which is so important for them, for their communities, for their area, in the hands of Edi Rama, but to join the general popular uprising in Tirana until his departure," said Berisha./ CNA
