Berisha to Foltorja: The May 8th protest will be like never before

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, delivered his speech at the podium in front of the Prime Minister's Office, where he spoke about the protest that will be held on May 8.

Berisha said that Friday's protest will not be like the others, adding that it will be a protest for the dignity and lives of Albanians.

"May 8 is the date of our great protest. It is the date of revolt. But the protest of May 8 will be a protest like never before. The consequences of 13 years of narco-state, where crime and drugs control almost every aspect of life. Where crime and drugs control the state. Where drug money controls the economy. Where the main national controlled media of the country have been transformed into Edi Rama's loudspeakers, organs of deception and manipulation of citizens, organs of corruption of our beautiful language, the Albanian language. Where the anti-culture of drugs and crime is superimposed on our ancient wonderful traditions. All of this has placed Albanian society in one of the most threatening situations in the history of the country, with terrible consequences that we live every day.

Therefore, the May 8 protest will not be a political protest. It will not be a protest of one or several parties. The May 8 protest will not be a protest for a cause. May 8 will be the awakening of the conscience of Albanians. It will be a protest for the dignity of Albanians. It will be a protest for the family, for our little ones, for their lives, safety and future.

Tonight I have a call for every Albanian. For 13 years, Edi Rama has humiliated Albanians, imprisoned them for electricity bills, for a dose of cannabis for personal consumption, now they will be imprisoned even for wrong parking. But when justice demanded the arrest of Balluku, who together with Edi Rama have stolen hundreds and hundreds of millions of your money as was proven in the affair of 50 million euros alone in the Llogara tunnel. As was proven with the multiple prices of roads higher than in the EU. Edi Rama and Balluku did not go to prison, as citizens go, as fathers do for the electricity bill. But they used the 83 mandates of the criminal parliament to protect himself, to prevent justice, an act unheard of and unimagined in 34 years of political pluralism. "An act that cost Albania a serious threat to its most immortal dream, the European dream ," Berisha said. /CNA
