On the debate about protest violence

After the protest, the "violence" and debate have shifted online, between those who defend the rights of protesters, according to the "throw them in the trash" principle, and those who seek to "lay them even more on the wood", those who raise their hands against the police.

I don't know who started the "fight", since this is important to us. I don't know if it was part of the protest plan, or if it got out of control? That's a matter for those who manage it.

But we must be clear about something:

-Citizens have their right to protest.

-The police are there on duty to protect the institution.

Is violence a beautiful thing? NO!

Does it happen at protests? YES!

But there is a difference.

The citizens' protest has no protocol, no regulation, which means: First you will throw flowers. Then you will curse. Then you will remove the fence. Then you will push. Then you will throw eggs. And finally, you will throw stones.

But, there is a protocol for the police, because:

The police are the state, not a mob!

The police have shields, the citizens don't!

Police officers have spacesuits, citizens don't!

The police have rubber batons, the citizens don't!

The police have water tankers, the citizens don't!

The police have pepper spray, the citizens don't!

The police have tear gas and pepper spray, the citizens don't!

Police officers are physically trained, citizens are not!

Police officers are psychologically trained to cope with crowd pressure, citizens are not!

The police do not respond in the same way:

The police are asked to initially use the lightest means of response, and not go directly to gassing and pepper spraying.

The protocol has a word, called PROPORTIONALITY!

BECAUSE: Police and protesters are not two armies, which ultimately take the toll of casualties.

PS: I saw this video on Adriatik Lapaj's website. According to it, the water the police threw was mixed with fuel and caused burns to the skin of the protesters who got wet.

If so, this is a criminal offense.
