'Rilindja' fears over the appointment of a lieutenant general as US

US President Donald J. Trump's proposal to appoint Lieutenant General (Ret.) Eric P. Wendt as US Ambassador to Albania is not simply a diplomatic development.
It is a direct political blow to the bad governance model that the Renaissance Sect has installed for the past 14 years.

Let's put it bluntly: Why should "Rilindja" be really afraid of this appointment:

In a country where corruption has become a system, where elections are manipulated, and where organized crime co-rules politics, the arrival of an American general with proven integrity is a real threat to the status quo.

Because high-level corruption will begin to be treated as a national security issue and no longer as a “domestic problem.” I think an American general like General Eric P. Wendt will consider Rilindja’s corruption as a destabilizing factor, not as a political compromise.
Because the links between politics and crime will no longer be covered up with propaganda like the shameful diaspora summit that was a circus show, which completely failed with only Rama’s servants from abroad participating, without any important representatives of the diaspora, and which did not address any of the diaspora’s concerns.

Because the manipulation of elections for 14 years will be the direct focus
of an ambassador with this profile, who will not accept democratic facades. He will demand real standards, not fabricated Renaissance results.

Because the complete capture of justice by employing patronage agents will be openly challenged, because so far we have seen that the politically controlled justice system continues to be the foundation of the illegal survival of the current government and it is precisely here that the strongest clash is expected.
Because official Washington has lost patience and this very nomination is a clear signal that the US will no longer tolerate a political elite that has failed to build the rule of law.
Because the false propaganda of Rilindja no longer works with Washington, because conferences, reports embellished with lies and expensive lobbying are no longer enough, but the facts on the ground are decisive.

Because it will be required with facts to strike the financial interests of the Rilindja government, its corrupt ministers, where the money from corruption, connections with drug trafficking and their laundering through construction, the economy and informality will be under direct observation.
Because the era of "comfortable" ambassadors is over, who in exchange for designer bags, erotic evenings under the sounds of smoke, music but not only declare the imaginary successes of Rilindja. There will no longer be diplomatic tolerance for a reality that conflicts with the strategic interests of the US in the region.

Essentially, this appointment is a blunt message from Washington, proving that Albania can no longer remain a captive state, an operating base for organized crime, and a facade democracy.

An ambassador like General Wendt will not focus on diplomatic rhetoric, but on measurable results in the fight against corruption, the functioning of institutions, and real respect for democratic standards.

This appointment is also a strong response to foreign influences in the Western Balkans, at a time when the influence of Russia and China in the region is growing, signaling a stronger American commitment to the Balkans and a strong impact in the field of security and defense reforms.

For the corrupt Albanian politicians who have built their power on fear, corruption, and election manipulation, the arrival of a figure like General Wendt is not just a problem, but the beginning of their political end.

Last but not least, I personally maintain the highest respect and appreciation for his leadership in planning and conducting very difficult special operations missions during Lieutenant General (Ret.) Eric P. Wendt's deployment to Afghanistan in 2011-2012.

The Albanian-American diaspora, in any case requested by Ambassador Wendy, will be ready to contribute its expertise in all necessary areas: national security, the fight against organized crime, and wherever it is of interest to the USA.
