Has another member of the Constitutional Court been taken hostage by Erion Veliaj?

Judge Sandër Beci, with strong connections within the SP leadership, is suspected of having served Erion Veliaj's cause against Edi Rama's decision to dismiss Erion Veliaj from the position of mayor of Tirana.

According to information leaked from within the meeting of the Constitutional Court, when Erion Veliaj's requests for the suspension of his dismissal acts were discussed, the decision was strategically negotiated to be taken 8 to 0, precisely in order not to expose by name those who were lobbying for Erion Veliaj.

A decision made by majority vote would expose the majority, but especially the minority.

The surprise that followed a unanimous suspension decision is actually explained only by the preservation of 3-4 names of members of the Constitutional Court, who are playing with the state, not with the fate of a dismissal decision.

In the "tactics" chosen by Erion Veliaj, the most famous is the tactic of attacking all those who accuse him, as people who have a personal grudge, of refusing them building permits.

In line with Veliaj's reasoning, we must say that whoever defends him has received a building permit from him.

Or they have another connection that makes them quasi-family with him.

But if Sander Beci, for example, is regularly lobbied by a segment of the Socialist Party, then Edi Rama has a bigger problem than just the elections in Tirana if Sander Beci joins Veliaj in a battle as spicy as this.

Erion Veliaj's tactics have often ranged from blackmailing the media, officials, or judges he believes have his fate in their hands.

Thus, not long ago, a portal regularly paid for by Veliaj's family members accused Judge Sandër Beci of being involved in corruption during the time he was on staff at the Shkodra University of Law.

Among other things, that portal stated:

"In this file, (now dismissed), there was also Sandër Beci, former member of the High Prosecutorial Council, under investigation for the charge of passive corruption of persons exercising public functions."

How Sandër Beci experienced this blackmail can be temporarily discerned in the decision to suspend the elections in Tirana.

But it cannot go unnoticed that the President of the Republic was also subjected to pressure like this after he dared and accepted Edi Rama's decision.

Suddenly, written accusations were made against the President about his son's salaries and unwritten accusations about his brothers' villas.

Lulzim Basha's former soldier, who has been left without any political function and outside the party and parliament, Enkelejd Alibeaj, in an interview for the Veliaj family newspaper, stated that the Constitutional Court should issue a decision to overturn the dismissal of the former mayor arrested on 13 charges for 5 serious criminal offenses.

"An alternative, and I said, the most legally credible alternative for me, is that the Constitutional Court will have to issue a decision to overturn the Government's decision and the Municipal Council's decision to dismiss Erion Veliaj, along with the decree setting the election date for November 9 by the President of the Republic," Alibeaj declared.

According to him, this is the most legally reliable solution.
