Si sot më 20 tetor 1900, u nda nga jeta poeti kombëtar Naim Frashëri.
Ai lindi në Frashër të Përmetit më 25 maj 1846.
Studioi në vendlindje, më tej në gjimnazin “Zosimea” të Janinës, e më pas u vendos në Stamboll.
Naimin mund ta quhet intelektuali tipik të Perandorisë Osmane, bartës i kulturës Perëndimore po aq sa i asaj Lindore, por i ndërgjegjshëm për identitetin e tij kombëtar e gjuhësor.
Kjo duket qartë në gjuhët që përdor për të shkruar veprat e veta: shkruan katër në osmanishte, dy në persisht, dy në greqisht dhe pesëmbëdhjetë në gjuhën shqipe.
