The first ballerina of the Opera and Ballet Theater, Ganimet Vendresha, has passed away at the age of 88. The sad news was announced by the artist's family members.

Who was Ganimet Vendresha?

Ganimet Vendresha in 1949, graduated from the Jordan Misja art school in Tirana, in the piano class, and then started working in the Song and Dance Ensemble at the Albanian Philharmonic. On May 1, 1950, she made her debut as a soloist, dancing on the stage of the Philharmonic, in an occasional concert.

In November 1950, she began studying in Moscow, where she studied at the school of classical dance at the Bolshoi Theater. Together with the Bolshoi team, she played on tour in 9 Republics of the former Soviet Union. She defended her degree in 1956, dancing the role of Maria Potocka in the ballet Bachczysaraju. She prepared the role under the direction of Galina Ulanova./ CNA.al
