Smuggling of 360 bottles of wine / 37-year-old arrested in flagrante delicto at

A 37-year-old man was arrested red-handed after attempting to smuggle goods by hiding them in the truck he was driving.  

Citizen JT, resident of Tirana, was arrested after a search at the Port of Durres.

As part of the operation, 360 bottles of wine and various used vehicle spare parts were seized, all undeclared.

Announcement:

As a result of detailed controls carried out at entry and exit by the Border Police services of BCP Port, Durrës, based on police information and risk analysis

Citizen JT, 37 years old, resident of Tirana, was arrested in flagrante delicto.

During the search, Border Police services found hundreds of bottles of wine and various vehicle spare parts hidden in the truck, without an invoice of origin and without an import declaration.

From the investigative actions, it is suspected that this citizen attempted to evade customs and border control by not declaring the quantity of goods to the customs and border authorities.

The following were seized as material evidence: 360 bottles of wine, various used vehicle spare parts, a mobile phone, and the truck in which the undeclared goods were being transported.

The procedural materials were referred to the Durrës Prosecutor 's Office for further action./CNA
