1635 boxes of expired medicines and 2654 without receipts/ 42-year-old man in

A 42-year-old man was arrested and handcuffed in Fier after storing various medications in his apartment without a tax receipt and a significant portion of which were expired.

Citizen BB then put them on the market, supplying the city's pharmacies.

During the police operation codenamed "Expiry", 1,635 boxes of various expired medicines were seized as material evidence, as well as 2,654 boxes without tax invoices, suspected of being smuggled.

Specialists of the Economic-Financial Crimes Investigation Section, after several months of investigative work followed by special investigative methods, in cooperation with the Prosecution, based on the evidence obtained from the investigation, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Skadenca".

Based on the evidence obtained from the investigation, the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier has decided to allow the search of the apartment owned by citizen BB.

As a result of the inspection, a total of 4,289 boxes of various medications were found, a significant amount of which was expired and the rest without a tax invoice.

The investigation revealed that this citizen, for a long period of time, had been storing expired medications and then putting them on the market, supplying pharmacies in the city of Fier, with the aim of making a profit.

At the end of the actions, citizen BB, 42 years old, resident of Fier, was arrested in flagrante delicto.

The procedural materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier, in charge of citizen BB, for the criminal offenses "Production and trade of counterfeit medicines and medical devices or those dangerous to life and health", "Hiding income", "Storage or storage of contraband goods" and "Trade and transportation of contraband goods"./ CNA
