Cocaine worth around 20 million euros seized in Italy/ Two Albanians in

Over 160 kilograms of cocaine hidden inside a truck have been seized as part of a massive police operation by the Guardia di Finanza between the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia. The operation culminated in the arrest of two Albanian citizens and the seizure of a quantity of drugs that, if sold on the market, could have a street value of approximately 20 million euros.

As part of the operation, a series of checks were carried out in the main industrial areas of the two provinces, areas considered strategic for illegal drug trafficking. Finance officers from the Economic and Financial Police Unit of Brescia noticed suspicious activity around a truck with a trailer stopped in a municipality in the Bergamo area.

According to reports, the truck driver, who was acting suspiciously, got into the trailer just before a car pulled up next to the truck. Just as the driver was handing over seven large bags to the driver of the car, the Guardia di Finanza began to search the vehicle.

Inside the bags were found 150 blocks of cocaine, with a total weight of more than 160 kilograms. The two men involved, both of Albanian origin, were arrested and transferred to the Bergamo prison. Investigations are ongoing to clarify any possible links to larger criminal organizations.  /CNA
