"Wall Street Journal": Agreement for new US-Iran meeting, dilemma over date and location

The US and Iran have agreed in principle to hold a diplomatic meeting, but have not yet decided on a date and location for the meeting, according to the prestigious media outlet "Wall Street Journal".

Regional mediators are pushing to extend the ceasefire between the US and Iran and organize a second round of talks, but progress has been slow, according to officials familiar with the matter.

It is noted that Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey from April 15 to 18, according to a statement from the Foreign Ministry in Islamabad. Officials added that a meeting between the US and Iran is unlikely to take place before the end of that visit.

The two-week ceasefire between the two countries was announced by US President Donald Trump on April 7.
