Video/ Unrest in Brazil, the football team loses after 111 years

On Wednesday, Brazilian soccer club Santos FC, one of the most famous in Brazil and around the world for producing icons like Pele and Neymar, was relegated for the first time in the team's 111-year history.

The reactions that followed on the streets of Santos were devastating and unnecessary. 

Fans set cars, buses and even buildings on fire in response to the shock and anger of seeing their team relegated from the Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A.

The ugly scenes at Santos started at Vila Belmiro, where Santos FC played their last match against Fortaleza.

Some fans even stormed the pitch in a rage, forcing the players to evacuate the pitch at the end of the match. The sordid protests spilled into the streets, forcing military police and helicopters to intervene./ CNA
