A brutal crime has been discovered in Italy, in the Anguillar region, about 30 kilometers from Rome, where a 40-year-old woman was found buried. 

According to prosecutors, Federica Torzullo was murdered inside her home by her husband, Claudio Carlomanio. The woman had been missing for ten days and the perpetrator had denied any responsibility until today at noon.

After a series of investigations, the carabinieri managed to find the woman's body in a field located near an agricultural company owned by the perpetrator. Italian media reported that the carabinieri, during the investigation, saw a woman's hand above the ground and suspected that it could be Torzullo's body.

The couple lived in the same apartment, but according to friends, they were separated. Neighbors had seen the 40-year-old's husband washing a truck he used for work, while blood stains were found at his home and workplace.

Claudio Carlomanio was taken to prison in the city of Civitavecchia, 80 kilometers north of Rome. According to the author's defense lawyer, he wanted to surrender himself but authorities managed to arrest him first. /CNA
