The Norwegian Nobel Institute has issued another statement on the status of the Nobel Peace Prize. The statement comes amid public debate following a meeting in Washington, where Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado symbolically presented her award to US President Donald Trump.

Trump publicly accepted the gift and kept the medal he was awarded, sparking discussions about whether a Nobel Prize can be transferred.

In its latest response, the Norwegian Institute stressed that the Nobel Prizes cannot be transferred or redistributed. It also emphasizes that the Nobel Peace Foundation committee must maintain its core value, which is primarily focused on preserving the dignity of the Nobel Peace Prizes and their administration.

The Nobel Committee clearly stated that the foundation supports Alfred Nobel's will and follows his terms and conditions. Furthermore, the institute clearly stated that the Nobel Peace Prize is not transferable.
