Ceasefire in Gaza and release of hostages/ Negotiations begin tomorrow in Egypt

Indirect negotiations between the parties involved for a ceasefire in Gaza, the release of hostages held by Hamas and Palestinians held in Israeli prisons are expected to begin tomorrow in Egypt.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he hoped to announce the release of hostages held in Gaza in the coming days.

"Hamas will be disarmed and Gaza will be demilitarized, whether it is easy or difficult, but this will be achieved," he said in a televised statement. 

The statements were made in response to Hamas' announcement on Friday that it had agreed to release the hostages, in accordance with the provisions of the US peace plan, without mentioning disarmament, suggesting it was seeking negotiations on other issues.

Hamas announced on Saturday that Israel was continuing to carry out massacres after yesterday's morning attacks in Gaza, calling for global pressure on Israel.

Last night, Al-Qahera News, a media outlet affiliated with Egyptian intelligence services, reported that the two delegations were already on their way to hold talks today and tomorrow to review the conditions on the ground and how this exchange would be organized, based on the proposal of US President Donald Trump./CNA
