103 incidents and damage to homes/Cyclone Gabrielle hits Portugal's Azores

Cyclone Gabrielle hit Portugal's Azores islands, reaching speeds of 185 kilometers per hour and causing over 100 incidents and damage to homes.

The winds and rain were less intense than expected, but the storm toppled trees and collapsed roofs.

According to Portugal's Civil Protection, there were four cases of damage to homes and one more serious case at Graciosa Airport.

Four people were displaced from their homes, one on Graciosa and three on the island of Faial, officials said.

Of the 103 incidents, 49 were resolved, according to the Civil Protection update. Most reports were of fallen trees, poles and damage to a roof, fortunately with no casualties recorded. /CNA
