Zelensky: I am ready to leave office if the Ukraine-Russia war ends

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has hinted that he is ready to leave office once Russia's war in Ukraine ends.

During an interview, the Ukrainian leader clarified that the elections were not his personal ambition.

"My goal is to end the war. Yes. If we are going to end the war with Russia? Yes. It is not my goal, the elections. I really want, in a very difficult period, to be with my country, to help my country. Yes, that is what I wanted. My goal is to end the war," Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian leader's comments come at a time when his country is in a state of war, set since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022.
