Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj was arrested on February 10, 2025, accused by SPAK of "passive corruption of senior officials" and "laundering the proceeds of criminal offenses."
What followed the arrest was extreme disinformation and propaganda with denigrating statuses and writings about judges and prosecutors by Veliaj himself and people close to him, now proven by wiretaps published by CNA to have been initiated by the mayor of Tirana from his detention cell.
In the days after the arrest, many public figures posted encouraging statuses on their social networks, many of them also participated in the protests in front of SPAK, which was a scandal due to the way it was not managed by the State Police, putting the lives of prosecutors, judges and investigators at risk. Part of this scandal were Çiljeta Xhilaga, Roland Hysi, who were the focus of the cameras.
Some even declared him a transformative figure in the capital, as was the case with singer and moderator Ardit Gjebrea, who in an Instagram story accompanied by a photo with Veliaj wrote:
"No one can say that Tirana is the same as before. And unfortunately, how can they not shout about your work, and how quickly they forgot (on purpose) that you came to Tirana to fundamentally change it, for the good of our daily lives?! One day they will look for you, and I know: The capable always find a way to be worthy of themselves and their families. You should have continued to be there, at work, for all of us! I am happy and proud to have a friend like you! # kambesimtekti #jamerion"
Apparently this was a post from a friend to a friend, but if you scratch a little on this fabric, that's not the case.
We recall that the SPAK investigative file on Veliaj, revealed by Judge Erion Bani, included all the transactions that his wife Ajola Xoxa had carried out with artists through NGOs owned by her and close family members.

Sipas të dhënave nga Drejtoria e Përgjithshme e Thesarit, të pasqyruara në Open Spending Data, rezulton se Ardit Gjerbrea ka marrë para plot 6 herë nga Bashkia e Tiranës një total prej 300 milionë lekë.
Në datën 19.12.2022 Bashkia Tiranë i ka dhënë 8,000,000 lekë Shoqatës Jon Music për festivalin Kënga Magjike 2022. Një tjetër pagesë që ka marrë nga Bashkia e Tiranës është në 03.12.2021, me vlerë 705,880 lekë nga Jon Music sërish për Festivalin Kënga Magjike. Në datë 11.10.2021 Bashkia Tiranë i ka dhënë Jon Music 6,289,998 lekë për festivalin Kënga Magjike 2021. Në datë 03.02.2020 Bashkia Tiranë i ka dhënë Jon Music 2,700,000 lekë. Një tjetër transaksion është bërë nga Bashkia Tiranë për Jon Music në datën 31.01.2020 me vlerë 4,300,000 lekë. Po ashtu në datën 29.01.2019 Jon Music ka marrë 7,975,000 lekë nga Bashkia e Tiranës.
Si të mos mjaftonte ky skandal në përgjimet e Erion Veliajt nga paraburgimi i Durrësit mbi të cilat u ngrit dhe akuza e tretë ajo e “futjes së sendeve të palejuara në qelitë e paraburgimit” përmendet dhe një personazh me emrin Ardit që nëse bën lidhjen mes fakteve të çon te këngëtari dhe moderatori Ardit Gjebrea.
Në përgjimet e zbardhura nga CNA në bisedën e kryer në orën 21:29, teksa Ajola bisedon me Veliajn, ndërhyn Arditi. Nga konteksti i bisedës së zhvilluar, Arditi i kërkon Erionit që të japë mesazhe pa fyerje, pa ofendime, pasi në momentin që ka sharje apo shantazhe, quhet kërcënim.
I tregon se kjo gjë mund të përdoret kundër tij, pasi do të shprehen se: ai është brenda dhe kërcënon, imagjinoni po të dalë jashtë. Këtë gjë, Arditi tregon se ia kanë thënë edhe miq nga PD-ja, të cilët më përpara kanë shkruar kundër tij (Erionit).
Arditi merr përsipër dhe pjesën motivuese për “mikun” e tij duke e ngushëlluar me frazën “të mendojë sikur është në Big Brother”. Ndoshta do të justifikojë 300 milionë lekët. “Arditi thotë se ‘mikeshës’ i ka thënë që t'i tregojë ‘lalit’ që të mendojë sikur është në ‘Big Brother’”, thuhet në përgjimet e siguruara nga CNA.
Arditi si në filmat thriller futet dhe më thellë duke shkuar deri te personazhi më misterioz në këto përgjime që është “Redaktori” apo siç i drejtohet Arbian Maznikut “Arbri i madh”.
