The Director General of the State Police, Skënder Hita, has presented the family of the Martyr of the Homeland with the medal of gratitude, awarded to Inspector Enea Mekolli, after his sublime act in the line of duty.

The son of the Martyr of the Fatherland already has the status of "Child in the care of the Republic".

On the occasion of the birthday of the son of the Martyr of the Homeland, Enea Mekolli, the General Director of the State Police, Major General Skënder Hita, accompanied by senior State Police leaders, paid a visit to the Mekolli family.

Hita expressed that the name and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

"This is a contribution collected with all our hearts by the employees of the State Police, as a sign of respect, gratitude and solidarity for the sublime sacrifice of Enea, as well as support for the family of the Martyr of the Homeland.  We have the moral and institutional obligation to take care of his family and we will fulfill this obligation with responsibility and dedication. You lost your son, we lost a colleague, a friend and an exemplary police officer. But the name and sacrifice of Enea will never be forgotten. We will stand by you, while his memory will live forever in our hearts, in the history of the State Police and in the honor of all Albanians" , said Hita during the visit to Mekolli's family. /CNA
