Anti-government protests have been ongoing for two hours on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard. In their speeches in front of the Prime Minister's Office, citizens have made continuous calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

They also demanded the release of protesters arrested yesterday morning in front of Parliament.

"Edi Rama, you traitor, release the boys as soon as possible", "Arrest Rama", are some of the citizens' calls.

Earlier today, Tirana Police announced that they have arrested 19 people and prosecuted 12 others in connection with the protest held yesterday in front of Parliament.

The police also announced that work is underway to identify 6 other citizens who have been documented with footage of violent acts.

They are charged with "Destruction of property", "Opposition of a police officer", "Assault due to duty", "Disturbance of public order and peace", "Organization and participation in illegal gatherings and demonstrations", "Disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer" and "Obstruction of the movement of means of transport". /CNA
