US Congressman Joe Wilson has proposed an amendment for the investigation by US intelligence structures of the links between the Albanian government and drug trafficking.
The congressman's amendment was proposed two weeks ago in the US Congress.
The proposal has been submitted to the Rules and Regulations Committee. Approval is now expected in the plenary session of Congress.
" Not later than 180 days after the date of the enactment of this Act, the Secretary of State, in coordination with the Director of National Intelligence, shall submit to the appropriate committees of Congress a classified report, prepared in accordance with the protection of intelligence sources and methods, that examines:
-the extent of drug trafficking in Albania
-the role of the Albanian government in facilitating or enabling this drug trafficking ," the amendment reads.
