This afternoon, at 7:00 PM in front of the Prime Minister's Office, the opposition will hold its eighth protest against Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government.

DP leader Sali Berisha has called on all Albanians to join the protest against the regime.

On the other hand, the Tirana Police have announced that they have taken measures to guarantee order and the smooth running of the protest to be held on May 8, at 7:00 PM, by the opposition, announcing temporary traffic restrictions on several main axes of the capital.

According to the official announcement, from 11:45 p.m. on May 7 until the end of the rally, traffic will be blocked and parking of vehicles will not be allowed on the segment of the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, from "Ura e Dajti" to "Ismail Qemali" street.

Meanwhile, from 3:00 PM on May 8, vehicle traffic will be prohibited on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" boulevard, from the intersection near the Ministry of Interior of Albania to "Mother Teresa" Square, as well as on "Ukraine e Lirë", "Papa John Paul II" and "Ismail Qemali" streets.

The police have called on the organizers to respect the time and place set for the rally, while asking for citizens' understanding regarding the restrictions on movement.

Authorities have also appealed to citizens to distance themselves from any illegal actions that may violate public order and security./ CNA
