"Albania hit by storms"/ Expert: Here's how the weather situation

IGJEUM expert Anira Gjoni shared some data from the weather forecast for the weekend, as the country is expected to be hit by numerous storms and thunderstorms.

In a television appearance, Gjoni said that there will be rainfall in some regions, while snowfall is also expected in mountainous areas.

The expert said that the most critical days will be Thursday and Friday, without excluding Saturday and Sunday.

"We have been announcing this since Monday. We expect this weather to accompany us throughout the weekend. It is not that we are waiting for our counterparts in neighboring countries to inform us. We expect stormy weather, moderate and intense rainfall in some regions, in the form of thunderstorms. It should be noted that snowfall is expected in mountainous areas up to 800 meters in altitude.

We may have flooding in cities such as Durrës, Vlora, Berat, Gjirokastra and Kukës.

The wind will be problematic, with intensity ranging from moderate to strong, while temperatures will drop significantly, with minimums expected to drop to 7°C and maximums not exceeding 16°C.

"The most critical days will be Thursday and Friday, when the rainfall will be more pronounced. On Saturday, the situation is expected to improve and the rainfall will stop," Gjoni said./ CNA
