In the framework of strengthening regional cooperation in the field of electronic communications, the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP) welcomed today in Tirana the delegation of the Agency for Electronic Communications of North Macedonia (AEK), headed by the Director of the Agency, Mr. Jeton Akiku, as well as by the Chairman of the Commission, Prof. Dr. Orce Simov.

The delegation was received by the President of AKEP, Mr. Gentian Sala, along with members of the Steering Council and leaders of the main structures of the institution.

During the bilateral meeting, the parties exchanged views on the latest developments in the electronic communications sector and emphasized the importance of regional cooperation in an increasingly integrated market.

Discussions focused on alignment with European Union standards and the development of modern infrastructures, including fiber optic networks and 5G technology.

Also discussed were common challenges in market regulation and the importance of coordinating regulatory policies.

The meeting was considered a good opportunity to deepen inter-institutional cooperation and exchange best practices in order to promote the sustainable development of the electronic communications sector in the region./ CNA
