DP MP Saimir Korreshi has denounced an alarming situation in the village of Çermë Sektor in Divjaka.

In the video posted on social media, Korreshi states that an entire area has been turned into an open landfill where waste is not only deposited but also burned, causing massive pollution and a risk to public health.

According to Korreshi, this place serves as a point for illegal garbage collection and disposal, creating a dangerous source of pollution. The MP adds that toxic liquids that flow from the burning of waste end up in a nearby drainage canal.

This contaminated water, as highlighted by the MP in the complaint, is then used to irrigate agricultural lands throughout the area.

This practice raises a major concern for food safety, as hazardous substances can easily pass into agricultural products and then onto consumers' tables.
