The Board sets new fuel prices/ How much will diesel and gasoline be sold for

The Transparency Board has made the decision on the new fuel prices.

The board has decided that retail diesel will be sold at 203 lek/liter, while retail gasoline will be sold at 180 lek/liter.

"The Transparency Board on April 29, 2026, at its next meeting, decided:

The retail price of the gasoil by-product of the SSH EN 590 standard shall be no more than 203 lek/liter, while the wholesale price shall be no more than 191 lek/liter.

The retail price of the SSH EN standard gasoline by-product should be no more than 180 lek/liter, while the wholesale price should be no more than 168 lek/liter.

The prices set by the Board will come into effect today, the 29th, at 11:30 am and will be valid until the next board meeting where the changes in sales prices will be reflected.

We draw the attention of every operator of wholesale and retail sales of petroleum by-products to the obligation to implement this decision.

In case of violations found by various operators, the suspension of activity will be decided.

 The Ministry of Economy and Innovation, together with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, are committed to protecting the interests of Albanian consumers and preserving the principles of fair competition in the market.

EXPLANATION: Referring to Normative Act No. 1, Date 3.4.2026 "On an addition to Law No. 61/2012, "On excise duties in the Republic of Albania," as amended, which provides that if the retail price for diesel is higher than 220 lek/liter, or for gasoline is higher than 200 lek/liter, the 80% excise duty level shall be applied. Based on the implementation of the methodology for calculating the retail sales ceiling prices, the prices are below the limit of Normative Act No. 1, date 3.4.2026, and consequently the excise duty level shall be applied in full, 100%," the decision states./ CNA
