"The hearings must be public"/ Berisha, in line with Meta and Veliaj

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, in today's media conference, aligned himself with the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, and the leader of the Liberal Party, Ilir Meta, for the live broadcast of court hearings.

Berisha stated that the sessions should be public, as, according to him, this is the norm for any free country.

"I think and have the deepest conviction that every session, except those that have secrets of the country's security and defense, should be public and only public. This is a norm for every free country. When a session is closed, it is done for the purposes of state secrecy and nothing else can be kept hidden from the media and the public. This is my opinion and this is also the standard of every free country and not of authoritarian dictatorships and even less of narco-dictatorships, which follow the omerta or the law of silence, I mean media silence, they have their own fundamental law", Berisha said. /CNA
