"Corruption with construction permits"/ Këlliçi: Pot, or

DP MP Belind Këlliçi has reacted to the World Bank Enterprise Survey for 2025, which stated that there is an increase in corruption with construction permits in Albania.

In his post on social media, Këllici writes that corruption is one of the reasons why housing prices are high and unaffordable.

Among other things, ironically, the MP writes that only Prime Minister Edi Rama says that there is no corruption in Albania and that he can today describe the World Bank as a "pot".

Këlliçi further calls for participation in the May 8 protest, to put an end to, according to him, the source of corruption in the country.

Full reaction:

Corruption with construction permits! Pot, or a World Bank study?!

The World Bank, in its latest study, reports that one in three construction businesses in Albania pay bribes to obtain permits. This is a level that has increased since the last measurement 6 years ago, and is 4 times higher than the region.

This is one of the reasons why housing prices are high and unaffordable, as builders have extra costs, which are the money they have to give to Edi Rama's officials. In this way, they raise prices and in the end, this corruption is aggravated and paid for by the citizens.

Only Edi Rama says that there is no corruption in Albania. He can come out today and declare that the World Bank is a pot that does not want the government's good. But the truth of bribes, kickbacks, gifts, fines, is what Albanians know well and experience firsthand every day.

It is the corruption that Edi Rama defends with votes in the Assembly, that is holding Albania hostage, that is impoverishing people, that is destroying the future.

Therefore, we must unite in our battle against the source of this phenomenon, which is Edi Rama.

On May 8th on the Boulevard, at a moment that will be a turning point for the country. / CNA
